Experiences and tests with valve guides made of different materials

We have a large amount of materials available and each head project we have a more suitable material, I would like if possible the opinion and information of the experience with different materials.

I have tested these materials over the years:

nickel-aluminum bronze ,Aluminum bronze, Phosphor bronze or Beryllium copper (depending on engine)

If you have tested somme material, please give us your opinion first.

In admission we use nickel-aluminum bronze, aluminum bronze, phosphor bronze and beryllium copper.

Beryllium Copper:
Beryllium copper that we used in an engine with titanium valves in the intake, in this engine the valve seats used the same beryllium copper material, tests with the other materials showed superior wear on the titanium valve compared to beryllium copper.

I don't have conclusive heat transfer efficiency tests for the materials listed, and therein lies my interest in information from practical experiences.

I know that Mike Pemberton uses Colsibro for valves guides.

Colsibro is a precipitation hardening copper nickel silicon that offers a remarkable blend of physical and mechanical attributes unrivalled by many other grades of copper alloy.

If you're looking for valves guides for a Gilera Saturno, I might have a pair.
