Ok I thought I knew a thing or two about combustion chamber design, squish bands and so on and now I found this on a DT 125 R I'm fixing up for a friend:[Vous devez être inscrit et connecté pour voir ce lien]
Sorry for the pics being so big, I always struggle with it.
Here from another angle:[Vous devez être inscrit et connecté pour voir ce lien]
And the piston crown;[Vous devez être inscrit et connecté pour voir ce lien]
So can someone please explain how this combustion chamber works, I never saw something like this I mean I've seen older two strokes without a squish band but these were not performance engines, it was engines with very little assistance from a sort of the exhaust chamber.
Now this is an engine with 6.5:1 compression and 28 hp, ypvs and so on. So not exactly a slug
How can this be without a squish band and what is that ridge on the edge of the c. chamber ?
How does this work ,please anyone that knows will please explain?
Thank you very much.
